Year: 2010
Country: Morocco
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Environment
Project Investment: $454.49
Project Launch:
As one of the most impoverished areas in Morocco, the province of Missour is feeling changes to the environment. Missour has seen big environmental losses from shifting weather patterns, deforestation and irresponsible waste management. In response to the looming crisis, local leaders launched the Watch it Grow project with a grant from World Connect. Watch it Grow was a peer education project focused on education and conservation. The project provided focused leadership training for ten kids who are now viewed as leaders and role models by more than 400 kids in the province. The youth leaders taught other kids different games, activities and arts and crafts related to the environment and conservation, providing fun and memorable opportunities for kids across a number of underserved communities.Explore other Projects
