Youth Camp to Empower Leaders of Tomorrow
Year: 2010
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $497.50
Project Launch:
Most Salvadoran youth have few opportunities to experience life outside of their communities. This project provided a group of 13-15 year old Salvadoran girls, who had been identified as budding leaders in their respective communities, with an opportunity to connect over the course of a 3-day camp. Campers attended a series of workshops, presentations and games that allowed them to share their ideas on the themes of the camp: leadership, gender roles, and self-esteem. Each girl also developed a post-camp presentation to deliver in her school in order to share the camp’s positive messages. These girls are making a positive impact in their home communities with their newfound communication and leadership skills.Explore other Projects
