Getting Girls Involved: Women's Leadership Workshops
Year: 2011
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
A $500 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program supported a series of 15 weekend workshops for the young women in the women’s group of El Amatillo, Usulutan in El Salvador. The women who participated in the workshops were between 12-40 years old and came from very low income families that would otherwise not be able to afford to send their children to a program that provided a comparable education. The goal of the series of weekend workshops was to provide the young women of El Amatillo a safe environment to learn activities designed to help them become active members of their communities by increasing their self awareness and confidence, building their self esteem and teaching them new and marketable skills.Explore other Projects
