Project Launch: 5-20-20
Even though Dzidepo Women's Group's trainings in beads and soap making have seen impressive support from the community, IT literacy has been a bottleneck for their activities. The community and the Dzidepo Women’s Group recognized that others were branding and expanding their work through the internet, thus leading them to design this project and pursue this skill set. Dzidepo Women's Group designed a project called Project Dzidepo, meaning Project Confidence, to set up a space with 10 computers to provide information technology literacy education to students, teenage mothers, and women in the community.Upon deliberations among the community and the group, consensus was established on housing the computers at the Takuve Basic School where electricity is readily available, security for the computers assured and where our IT facilitators are mostly based.
